Description:         

This individual will be reporting to a Team Leader.  The key responsibility of the Analyst, Accident Benefits, is to act with a sense of urgency in identifying and meeting client needs, ensuring timely & thorough investigation of the predominantly disability claims.  This includes identifying client eligibility and/or entitlement, and ensuring quick access to all available benefits in order to promote treatment and recovery, and to help the client return to optimal function.

General Accountabilities:

-Under direct supervision promotes treatment and recovery of client; is responsible for effective case handling, priority of payment, loss transfer, and loss reserving for routine non complex medical claims.

  - Gathers, assembles, records and verifies information and documentation from all available sources to ensure a   thorough and complete compilation of facts required to resolve the claim.

        -Using established protocols, analysis and evaluates the facts of an individual case to assess   the  benefits available to the client.  Interprets reports in order to draw accurate conclusions about
 proposed treatment and/or actions.

-    Meet productivity objectives set out by the department in terms of pending file count and open/close ratio.

-    Read and remain current on case law, legislated regulatory changes and recent                                                settlements, which affect accident benefit claims.

                    Skills and Critical Competencies

                        -   You have a 2+ years experience handling Accident Benefit claims files.

-   You have a proven ability to communicate effectively and interact successfully with internal and external clients.

-   You have the ability to identify potential coverage issues and/or recovery/liability opportunities.

-   You negotiate win/win outcomes when possible.

-   You adhere to an appropriate and effective set of core values and beliefs during both good and bad times.

-   You write clear and professional letters conveying appropriate type and amount of information.
-   You actively listen, and use effective questioning techniques.

-   You make good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience & judgment.

-  You possess above average knowledge and experience with the MS Word, and Excel.
-   You understand the need for accuracy and meeting deadlines
